Elon Musk’s xAI has rolled out major updates to its Grok AI chatbot, including a real-time visual recognition feature called Grok Vision. Available on the iOS Grok app, this tool allows users to point their phone cameras at objects, signs, or documents and ask questions about them—similar to capabilities in ChatGPT and Google Gemini. The feature is not yet available for Android.
Alongside vision, xAI introduced multilingual audio support and real-time search in voice mode, accessible to SuperGrok subscribers.
Grok also recently gained a memory feature, enabling it to retain past user interactions to deliver more personalized responses. Unlike other AI models, Grok’s memory is fully transparent, showing users what it remembers and allowing them to erase specific chats. A “forget” button for Android is also in the works.
Earlier this month, Grok launched a Canvas-like Studio for collaborative document editing, code generation, and basic app development—available to both free and paid users on Grok.com.
