Srinagar, March 7: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting dry weather until March 9, followed by rain and snowfall.
The forecast indicates generally dry conditions across the region until the evening of March 9, providing a favorable window for farmers to carry out agricultural activities.
From March 10-11, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected in higher reaches at many locations across J&K. This will be followed by intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and snow from March 12-14.
Authorities have issued advisories in response to the forecast:
- Travelers, tourists, and transporters should adhere to administrative and traffic guidelines.
- Farmers are advised to complete their agricultural activities by March 9.
- Residents are cautioned to avoid steep and avalanche-prone areas.
