Srinagar, Mar 12: From doctor’s appointments to booking an ambulance, Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to roll out the SEHAT App for seamless healthcare accessibility in the union territory.
A smarter version of the AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme, the SEHAT App is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming healthcare accessibility in Jammu and Kashmir.
This digital platform, as per the official documents, will provide teleconsultation services, online doctor appointments at government hospitals, and a digital health records system, ensuring seamless access to medical care for residents.
Integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme, the app will enhance coverage and simplify healthcare management.
Key features of this app include AI-powered diagnostics, e-prescriptions, medicine delivery, and emergency health support, making quality medical services more efficient and accessible.
Additionally, the SEHAT App will offer ambulance booking, real-time preventive care updates, vaccination schedules, and wellness programs, ensuring a holistic approach to public health.
As per the data, 100 percent of families have been registered, and 86.12 lakhs Ayushman Golden cards have been issued under the “AB-PMJAY-SEHAT Scheme so far”. About 15 lakh treatments have been provided, amounting to Rs. 2800 crore.
Officials believe this initiative will significantly improve healthcare delivery, reduce hospital congestion, and empower residents with digital medical solutions.
“The rollout of the app will further improve the efficiency of the SEHAT scheme. The SEHAT App, developed by BISAG-N at the request of the Health & Medical Education Department, will serve as a comprehensive platform for accessing all patient and healthcare practitioner services in Jammu and Kashmir. Those who need immediate health care will complete the entire process via the app and will receive immediate treatment without any wastage of time,” officials said.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the app and directed the concerned for onboarding all the health practitioners on this portal to make the application more comprehensive and useful for the users.
He also advised them to look into making certain upgrades regarding the registration of doctors/ paramedics for home support and teleconsultation.
