Srinagar, Aug 7: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, today reached the encounter site in Kulgam to assess the on-ground situation.
The senior officers reviewed the ongoing operation and were briefed by local officers about the developments. Security forces had launched the operation following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. Further details were awaited as the operation continued.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, GOC-in-C of the Northern Command, reviewed the counter-terrorism grid in South Kashmir and assessed the security situation on the ground.
According to a statement, the Army Commander was briefed on the ongoing operations, operational readiness, and the overall security dynamics of the region.
He lauded the troops for their steadfastness and resilience, acknowledging their vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the region through a resolute counter-terrorism posture.
