Development of International-Level Sports Facilities Underway in Jammu and Srinagar: LG

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha marked a significant milestone on Wednesday by initiating the construction of a Synthetic Football Turf at Jagti Camp, Nagrota.

Emphasizing the importance of this endeavor, the Lt Governor remarked, “The forthcoming state-of-the-art sports facility will be crafted in accordance with FIFA Standards, a testament to our steadfast commitment to fostering sports in the Union Territory.”

Highlighting the transformative impact of infrastructure development since 2019, he noted, “We have witnessed a sports revolution in Jammu & Kashmir, with the completion of 702 sports projects. Furthermore, multipurpose indoor sports halls now adorn nearly every district, while playfields have been established in every panchayat.”

Furthermore, he underscored the ongoing efforts to establish international-grade sports facilities in both Jammu and Srinagar. Notably, Centers of Excellence in Canoeing, Rowing, and Fencing have been established in both divisions. Additionally, floodlighting and synthetic turfing initiatives are underway at various stadiums.

The Lt Governor’s remarks reflect the administration’s steadfast dedication to elevating the sports landscape in Jammu & Kashmir, promising a future filled with opportunities for athletes and enthusiasts alike.
