Dell Inspiron 15 5575 review: Value-for-money mid-range laptop

Dell’s Inspiron is one of the most popular mid-range laptop series in India. The company is now expanding its portfolio with a new Inspiron 15 5000 range. The USP of the new range is AMD’s latest Ryzen processor. The new chipset promises a great deal of performance enhancement and reliability. One of the first laptops to run AMD’s Ryzen processor is Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5575 ).

Starting at Rs 39,189, Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5575 ) is a mid-range laptop but with a more premium look and feel to it. The laptop sports a plastic body, but the quality doesn’t feel cheap. It measures 22.7mm x 380.0mm x 258.0mm and weighs around 2.221kg, making it a bit heavy to carry around. The trackpad is pretty smooth while keyboards are well designed for fluid typing experience.

The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch FHD/HD Anti-Glare LEDBacklit Display which delivers pretty decent legibility. The highlight of the laptop is AMD Ryzen 5 2500U Mobile Processor with RadeonTM Vega8 Graphics/ AMD Ryzen 3 2200U Mobile Processor with RadeonTM Vega3 Graphics. Running on Windows 10, Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5575 ) pretty decent performance as it handles graphic intensive games, multitasking and basic browsing activities with ease.

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5575 ) has 4GB 2400MHz DDR4 (4GBx1) and 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 (8GBx1), (4GBx2) memory options along with 1TB 5400 RPM hard drive built-in storage. The laptop comes with sufficient amounts of ports and connectivity options. It has USB 3.1 Gen 1(2), USB2.0 (1), HDMI 1.4b, and SD Media Card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC) slots. Key connectivity options include RJ-45 10/100 Ethernet 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.x, Dual Band 2.4&5GHz, 2×2.

The battery life on Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5575 ) is satisfactory with four to five hours on moderate usage. Light users can draw more juice from the battery. The laptop comes in 42 WHr, 3-Cell Battery and 45 Watt AC Adapter for UMA configuration options. Other key features of the laptop include built-in tray load DVD, built-in webcam and power button with aluminum look.
