SRINAGAR, MAY 19: With an aim to improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the allocation and implementation of development funds, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday launched a Constituency Development Information System, “e-Nigrani” an application/system for managing and tracking development projects within the Assembly Constituencies of Srinagar District.
The App was launched in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers of R&B, SMC, PHE and other Departments.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the system would be a significant step towards improving transparency, efficiency and accountability in the allocation and implementation of development funds with public scrutiny of development activities.
The DC remarked that the “e-Nigrani App” will establish a better coordination between Government officials and Legislatures for efficient execution of development works. He said the Legislatures can monitor ongoing development works in the areas of their respective Assembly Constituencies.
The DC added that the system would collect and store data on various aspects of development projects, including project details, funding sources, implementation agencies, timelines, and progress reports besides enabling real-time monitoring of project progress, and timely identification of bottlenecks and issues, if any.
