DC Kupwara reviews thematic areas of skill development under ADP scaled

KUPWARA, MAY 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned officers at D. C. Office, here to discuss various thematic areas of Skill Development under Aspirational District Programme (ADP).

On the occasion, Ayushi enjoined upon the officers to make joint efforts for transformative skill development initiatives that align with the needs of the unemployed youth of the district so that they can earn their livelihood and become self-reliant.

DC directed all concerned departments to identify skill gaps across sectors such as agriculture, handicrafts, IT and others. She further called for collaborative efforts with industry partners and training institutes to design localized skill modules that cater to the aspirations of the local population.

Underlining the importance of youth engagement, DC urged for greater awareness campaigns to mobilize participation in ongoing and upcoming skilling programs.

After threadbare discussion, various short-term and sector relevant skill courses were identified for implementation which include Basic Masonry, Digital Literacy & Basic Computer Application, Sozni Embroidery and Handicrafts, Electrician & Wiring, Automobile Repair & Maintenance, Tourism, Retail sales & hospitality, food & beverage, retail sales associate and other related vocational courses.
