DC Budgam chairs DCIC meeting reviews Heritage Preservation projects scaled

BUDGAM, JUNE 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of the District Coordination cum Implementation Committee (DCIC) to comprehensively review the progress of various heritage-related projects approved under Phase-I, Phase-II, and Phase-III of the scheme titled ‘Revival, Restoration, Preservation and Maintenance of Architecture and Heritage in the District.’

The meeting held detailed deliberations on the implementation status of approved Project Reports (DPRs) aimed at the conservation and upgradation of several significant heritage sites and religious landmarks spread across the district.

Key heritage sites discussed during the meeting include, upgradation of Charar-i-Sharief Shrine, Dia-Nag Temple, Budgam, Markazi Imambara Budgam, Imambara Khumani Chowk Bemina, Vasuki-Nag Temple Wagam, Ziyarat Sharief Peth Makhma Beerwah, Syed Alla-ud-Din Astanpora Khag, Ziyarat Sharief Nowroz Baba Khag, Ziyarat Shamas Faqeer Khansahib, Ragneya Mata Asthapan, Raithan Khansahib, Nanak Charan Astan Beerwah, Ziyarat Samad Mir Sahib Kremshore, Nandbawan Ashram Hussroo Chadoora and Ziyarat Syed Qasim Shah Balkhi, Nowbugh Chadoora.

DC took a detailed review of each project, assessing both the physical and financial progress, and identified gaps, if any, in implementation. He emphasized the cultural and historical significance of these sites, stating that heritage conservation is not only about preserving physical structures but also about protecting the community’s identity and legacy for future generations.
