Srinagar: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday organized grand celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga across Central Kashmir, with enthusiastic participation from personnel, civilians, students and members of civil society.
The events, held under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” were conducted by the Srinagar Sector CRPF in the districts of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal as part of the nationwide and global observance of International Yoga Day.
The main yoga session was organized at the Ground Centre (GC) CRPF, Srinagar, under the leadership of Pawan Kumar Sharma, Inspector General, Srinagar Sector CRPF. Senior officers, subordinate officers and jawans participated in the session with great enthusiasm.
Mass yoga sessions were also held at various battalion headquarters, CRPF camps and public venues across the region. Personnel from different CRPF formations joined local residents, school children and members of civil society in performing yoga exercises aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being.
Trained yoga instructors guided participants through a series of asanas, pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques designed to improve fitness, reduce stress and enhance overall health.
Speaking on the occasion, CRPF officials highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental resilience and a balanced lifestyle. The Force reiterated its commitment to the welfare and well-being of its personnel through regular health and wellness initiatives.
The celebrations concluded with participants taking a collective pledge to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more disciplined life.
Similar large-scale yoga programmes were organized by CRPF formations across the country, reflecting the Force’s unified commitment to wellness and the spirit of International Yoga Day.
