Srinagar, Mar 26: A man from Rajouri has been tested positive for coronavirus, making him the third such case of the day and the seventh one in less than 24 hours in J&K.

Like the four Bandipora men who were tested positive on Wednesday, the Rajouri guy too had a history of contact with the Srinagar elderly who passed away of the disease Thursday morning.

Apparently, the deceased had returned from a Tableeghi Jamaat event and had met several people following the religious thought before he developed symptoms and was admitted in CD Hospital Srinagar, where he breathed his last today.

Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal confirmed the latest case in a tweet.

“Another positive case reported just now; patient from Rajouri district of Jammu province.History of close contact with (now deceased) positive case,” he wrote.

Earlier in the day two young siblings, an 8-month old infant and a 7 year old girl, tested positive. The two are grandchildren of an earlier Srinagar patient who was confirmed coronavirus positive a few days ago.

So far J&K has seen at least 13 cases including the one who passed away.
