COVID19: Kashmir’s first positive case recovers fully, tests negative

Srinagar, Mar 30: The elderly lady from Khanyar area of Srinagar, who was the first one to be tested positive for Coronavirus in Kashmir has tested negative after completely recovering from the infraction.

Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for COVID-19 at SKIMS said the samples of 67- year -old lady who was tested positive on March 30 were again collected and sent to viral Diagnostic and Research Lab, from where the results came as negative.

“She is still at the Institute (SKIMS) and will be kept in quarantine for a period of 14 days after that it will be decided whether or not to discharge her,” the doctor said.

“She is fine and the anti- viral drugs recommend by World Health Organization has helped her to recover and is undergoing treatment at isolation ward,” he added.

Pertinently there are 41 cases of Coronavirus so far with two deaths and two recoveries. (KNO)
