Srinagar: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman has set a great example by restricting himself to ‘quarantine’ during his daughter’s marriage ceremony in Mendhar area of Poonch district.

As per reports, the Hawaldar (name withheld) from Nakamanjhari area of the frontier district was placed in quarantine along with his brother after their arrival from Srinagar three days back.

“As a precautionary measure both of them were subjected to go through two-week quarantine,” the official said.

The cop’s daughter was slated to get married during the same time and the father preferred to stay in quarantine for everyone’s safety.

“Though it was difficult for me to manage my emotions, I know I have to do it. Someone may call it a sacrifice but it is a must for the safety of all loved ones,” he said.

Urging all people to restrain movement amid the onslaught of Coronavirus pandemic, the policeman remarked that since the virus is taking a serious toll on humans irrespective of any age, gender and religion, “we should co-operate with the authorities to contain its further spread”.
