COVID19: 39 fresh cases including 11 from Srinagar reported today

Srinagar: Kashmir witnessed a huge jump in COVID-19 cases as 39 more persons in the valley were detected Coronavirus positive pushing the J&K tally to 780

Eleven of the cases are from Srinagar alone.

Of the 39 cases, 31 samples were tested positive at Chest Diseases hospital lab. Besides eight cases have tested positive at SKIMS Soura lab.

The fresh cases include 11 from Srinagar, 18 from Anantnag, five from Shopian, three from Kupwara, and one each from Ganderbal and Kulgam districts.

Seven of the 11 cases from Srinagar are the contacts of a single case from Narwara, the brother of a SMC corporator who had managed to return to Kashmir and hide his travel history. The corporator too has been tested positive on Tuesday. “Each Covid+ve case confirmed in Srinagar today and yesterday could’ve been avoided. Most traced to single illegal travel. Please don’t make fatal mockery of our efforts for your safety,” tweeted DC Srinagar Shahid Choudhary.
