Covid crisis: Weekend curfew relaxed in 13 J&K districts

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Sunday relaxed Covid restrictions in 13 districts across the Union Territory.

The weekend curfew has also been lifted in these districts. However, daily night curfew will continue from 8 pm to 7 am.

The districts include Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur in Jammu division and Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama and Shopian in Kashmir division.

An order issued by the Government reads: “All outdoor shops are permitted to open on all days, only from 7 am till 7 pm. The market associations will have to fully cooperate with the local administration in ensuring strict compliance to the COVID appropriate behaviour.”

“All shops in the indoor shopping complexes/malls can open only for the consumers who are vaccinated or for customers with negative RT-PCR or RAT report of 48 hours prior. The shop owners/managers/staff will have to ensure compliance to it. The District Magistrates shall strictly enforce this measure,” it adds.

The restaurants and bars, according to the order, can open for in-dining at 50 percent of its total capacity only for the customers who are vaccinated or are carrying a negative RT-PCR or RAT report of 48 hours prior.

“The owners/staff/ managers of the establishments will have to ensure compliance to it. The District Magistrates shall strictly enforce this measure,” it said.

“Indoor sports complexes are also permitted to open at 50 percent of its total capacity for persons vaccinated/ persons with valid negative report for Covid. Swimming Pools will, however, continue to remain closed. Paid public parks are also permitted to open only for the vaccinated public,” the order added.
