Mala Mohalla in the neighborhood of Habak has been notified as a COVID-19 containment zone after a positive case was reported from the area. The case is the contact of the deceased COVID 19 man.

Following reports of repeated violations, the DM on Monday visited the area to take stock of the situation. He issued instructions for strict adherence to guidelines for containment of the disease.

An official spokesman said it has been reported that violators have been moving in the area during late evening and early morning hours to sell vegetables.

The spokesman noted that there are concerns that these vegetable sellers could be carriers of the coronavirus. The administration said those buying vegetables may get infected by COVID 19.

Meanwhile, the district administration has appealed to the residents of the surrounding areas to beware of the risks and report instances of violations and assist the administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district.

The administration urged people to unite not encourage violations. “Everyone has a responsibility and must contribute in efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19,” the administration said.
