COVID-19: ITC hands over relief stock to J&K Police

Srinagar: In the ongoing fight against coronavirus, ITC limited officials Saturday handed over juices and soaps stock to Jammu and Kashmir Police department at District Police Line, Srinagar in presence of SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughal and other police officials.

The company in a press statement said it has set up Rs 150 crore COVID-19 contingency funds for vulnerable sections of society.

“This fund will be used to provide relief to most vulnerable section of the society, provide assistance to rural healthcare and even provide protective gear for medical staff. This fund will be utilised primarily to provide relief to the vulnerable and most needy sections of society who have been harshly impacted by the pandemic and have faced significant disruption in their livelihoods,” the statement read.

The conglomerate said in its commitment to support the government efforts and play its part in fighting the pandemic with compassion and resilience, it has joined hands with J&K Police by distributing essential commodities (Juices and Soaps) for relief to IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar.
