Srinagar, February 15: Kashmiri author and independent consultant, H. M. Yasin, has launched ‘Correct Thinking’—a profound exploration of human cognition and its impact on life’s trajectory.
Blending philosophy, observation and actionable insights, the book published by ‘Kashmir Book Depot’ aims to recalibrate readers’ mental frameworks. It urges them to harness the power of intentional thought for personal and collective well-being.
“The book tells how to build confidence, get rid of negativity, and is especially beneficial for students, as it will make them think correctly so that they do not waste time. This book can be a perception changer for all age groups, and has to be read a number of times,” Yasin told The Kashmir Monitor.
“This book is based on observation, field surveys, and discussions with many people stretching over several years. The sole purpose of bringing such a book is to make the readers analyse their thinking patterns and actions arising from it, so that a productive and result-oriented life is spent, which will lead to a life of satisfaction and happiness,” he added.
Correct Thinking explores the unique power of the human mind, emphasizing its capacity to drive both constructive and destructive outcomes. Yasin highlights the importance of nurturing six core attributes—health, skills and knowledge, social connections, spiritual awareness, emotional resilience, and physical resources. These, he argues, are essential tools for navigating life’s uncertainties.
Drawing from field surveys, discussions, and his 30-year career in livelihood projects, the author underscores how aligning thoughts with positive action can transform individual experiences. In his introduction, Yasin reflects on life’s inherent unpredictability. While humans cannot control external events, he notes, they can cultivate internal strengths to respond with clarity and resilience. The book’s non-linear structure encourages readers to revisit its concepts, allowing space for personal interpretation and growth.
Published for global audiences, Correct Thinking is now available in bookstores. His work is self-experience-based, having traveled and worked in diverse sectors rather than compiled or borrowed.
Based in Srinagar, Yasin is an independent consultant and resource person specialising in livelihood projects. With over three decades of experience in project implementation and community development, his debut book merges practical wisdom with introspective inquiry.
