JAMMU, APRIL 22: Launching a 40-day movement to save the Constitution and press for the restoration of statehood, a high-level meeting of the JKPCC held today decided to carry forward the movement in all districts and Assembly segments, besides holding a mega protest rally on May 1st in Jammu.
Chaired by JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra, the meeting was attended by Working Presidents Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla, former MP Ch. Lal Singh, as well as former ministers, MLAs/MLCs, District Presidents, Block Presidents, leaders of frontal wings and cells, and other prominent leaders of the party from across Jammu Province. The meeting was held at Kashmir Hills Resort, Pata Bohri, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, JKPCC Chief urged party leaders to gear up party cadres in their respective Assembly segments, blocks, and districts to expose the BJP’s politics of vendetta, which aims to divert and digress the attention of the people from real issues facing the common man and youth.
He called upon all DCC and block presidents, contesting candidates, and party functionaries at all levels to mobilize cadres for participation in the protest rally on May 1st. He also announced a series of rallies to be held in all districts from May 3rd to May 10th, in Assembly segments from May 11th to May 17th, and at the block level through the end of May. All frontal wings were directed to mobilize their cadres to organize and participate in rallies across the Union Territory.
Karra stated that Congress will not remain silent in the face of any attack on its leadership, democracy, or constitutional institutions by the Modi government, which he accused of weakening democratic frameworks to distract the public from its communal, divisive, and vindictive politics.
