Srinagar, Apr 27: Chairman Hurriyat (G) , Syed Ali Geelani on Friday said that communalization and politicization of rape and murder of 8-year-old Kathua girl was deplorable and disheartening.
He expressed his anguish and concern over the “biased approach of judiciary”.
“They (judiciary) have always been apathetic and unsympathetic towards suppressed people of occupied state,” Geelani said in a statement.
He said the gruesome rape and murder of the eight-year-old girl from the Bakerwal community, reminds “us of the challenges confronting our society”.
“It is beastly act,” said Geelani and added that “one and all need to resent and react against these gruesome incidents.”
Demanding stringent punishment for the accused, Geelani said that “these fringe elements are committing a heinous crime against humanity.”
Geelani said that some “vested interests” are trying to derive political mileage out of a brutal and inhuman act.
Appealing people in Jammu, Geelani said that they should “identify and resent those sick minded who for their mean interests are trying to communalize this barbaric incident”.
“Vested elements and some criminals are hatching conspiracies to handover case to CBI and trying their hard to shelve case and acquit perpetrators and for this purpose even the judiciary seems to be facilitating the move,” he added.
“We have no faith in Indian judiciary,” Geelani said.
“Their bias track record about Kunan Poshpora and Shopian double murder and rape cases serves as glaring example of their bias.”
Demanding impartial probe by some internal agencies, Geelani said it as “crime against humanity” and as such the criminals should be awarded a stringent punishment.
