JAMMU, DECEMBER 09: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said the destiny of Jammu Kashmir will be decided by its youth and the government is committed to providing support and guidance to realize their dreams
“The destiny of Jammu Kashmir will be decided by its youth and all the arms of government are committed to empower them, to provide support and guidance to realize their dreams. We need to enhance intellectual capacity and enrich the personality of our youth through knowledge and values of courage, compassion, sacrifice, and selfless service,” he said.
Lt Governor was speaking after releasing the 3rd edition of `Kartavya Marg’, an annual in-house magazine published by Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, at Raj Bhawan today.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated and extended his best wishes to the editor and everyone associated with the publication. He appreciated the efforts of all the members of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust for the promotion of Sanskrit and for setting high standards for research on ancient knowledge systems in Jammu Kashmir.
The publication, edited by Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, features a number of research-oriented articles by renowned Sanskrit scholars and young researchers.
Trustees and members of Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust including R K Chhibber, Prof Sharat Sharma, Nigam Gupta, Sunil Sharma, Vinay Agarwal, and Dr Sanjay Sharma were also present.
Last month, Sinha called upon the youth to explore cutting-edge, transformative technologies and harness the power of innovation to benefit society.
“Youth should explore cutting-edge, transformative technologies and harness the power of innovation to benefit society, empower marginalized communities, and promote inclusive and equitable growth for a brighter future,” he said.
He urged the teaching community and educational institutions to nurture and promote creativity, innovation, new technology, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on capacity building, skill development, and lifelong learning to empower the youth and make them key partners in the nation’s socio-economic development.

Lt Governor extended his felicitations to the Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and students on the occasion. He congratulated the University for emerging as an important Centre of learning, particularly for skillful human resources in STEM fields.
The Lt Governor, Chancellor of IUST, reiterated the commitment of the University to bring about perceptible change in society with its innovative and equitable practices.
“I aim to redefine learning and make our higher educational institutions and Youth future-ready. In IUST, we have introduced diverse programs to amalgamate science, technology, and humanities in a way where all the disciplines work together, for holistic growth of the students,” the Lt Governor said.
