UGC Chairman hinted that National Testing Agency, NTA might consider conducting CUET twice a year. This is expected to be on the lines of JEE Main examination, which is also conducted twice a year.

UGC Chief Jagadesh Kumar told reporters that NTA might be conducting the entrance examination for Central Universities twice a year from 2023. For this year, however, the CUET 2022 would be conducted only once and most likely in July.

Students would get two opportunities to improve their scores. If the same model is implemented, students would have the option of appearing for either or both examinations. In the case of both – the better of the two scores would be taken as the final result.

Earlier, UGC has announced that admission to undergraduate degree programs would be done on the basis of the CUET 2022 score. All 45 Central Universities would be considering the CUET score for UG as well as PG admissions. Board Exam results would not be considered. The universities, however, can put eligibility criteria basis the board examination.
