SRINAGAR: Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, today attended the exhibition of art demonstrations and artifacts related to the Sufi-Spiritual Heritage of Kashmir in Srinagar. Varied artifacts and historically significant demonstrative frames of art and crafts were displayed in the exhibition.
The theme of the exhibition was the Sufi-Spiritual tradition of Kashmir. The exhibition was organized by INTAC J&K in collaboration with some volunteers.
Dr. Andrabi praised the organizers for this very significant display.
“I am highly thankful to the team of organizers, especially Saleem Beg Sahib, the famed art conservator, former DG Tourism J&K, and INTAC J&K Convener, for such a great initiative. Our young generation needs to be shown the magnificent heritage proofs we own and apprised of the importance of conservation and continuance of this glorious tradition,” said Dr. Darakhshan.
She said that she would like to devise a plan for the large-scale conservation of this heritage by roping in different private patrons and exploring the broader possibilities of collaborative efforts in this connection.
