Srinagar: Marking World Bicycle Day, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council on Wednesday organised a cyclothon in Srinagar to promote fitness, healthy living and environmental awareness.

Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, flagged off the rally in the presence of sports officials and cycling enthusiasts.

A large number of participants from different age groups took part in the event, which passed through designated routes in the city. The participants expressed happiness over the initiative and said such events encourage people, especially youth, to adopt cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly mode of transport.
