CII J&K Council meets Addl Chief Secy Tourism

SRINAGAR, JULY 21: Chairman CII J&K UT Council M.A. Alim along with Khurshid Dar ,Head CII J&K recently met with Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, Additional Chief Secretary,  Tourism Department, who also holds the additional charge of Administrative Secretary for the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department.

The meeting focused on strategic initiatives to enhance the tourism landscape in Jammu & Kashmir, exploring strategies to rejuvenate the tourism industry ensuring safety and quality for travelers. Dr Alim emphasised the importance of showcasing local traditions and crafts to enrich the tourist experience and support local artisans and advocated for eco-friendly tourism initiatives to preserve the region’s natural resources while promoting responsible travel. Dr. Alim also advocated for a potential collaboration between CII and the government to stimulate investment and foster innovation in tourism projects.

Dr. Verma expressed his appreciation for the CII’s proactive approach and highlighted the government’s commitment to developing policies that foster growth in the tourism sector. The discussions reinforced a shared vision of promoting Jammu & Kashmir as a premier tourist destination, benefiting both the local economy and communities.
