SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 10: The CII J&K successfully organized an insightful industry interaction with Sumita Dawra, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, on December 9, 2024, at Hotel Golden Tulip, Srinagar. This high-level engagement sought to bridge industry stakeholders and government policymakers, addressing critical challenges and opportunities within the region’s industrial landscape.
Speaking at the event, Sumita Dawra emphasized, “Partnerships between the government and industry are essential for creating an ecosystem where policies translate into meaningful impacts for businesses and workers alike. The Ministry is committed to enabling sustainable economic growth in J&K.” In partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, CII J&K conducted several informative panel discussions on critical topics, including labour and employment reforms, industry interaction with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), and employment-linked incentive schemes.
The sessions featured esteemed speakers and CII members, including Haseeb Renzu, Convenor, CII J&K MSME Panel and CEO of Wood Venture; Iqram Ali Shafiee, Convenor, CII J&K Healthcare Panel and Managing Director of Shafiee Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.; and Bilal Khan, Founder and Managing Director of KashPET. The interaction was further enriched by the participation of Hussain Khan, Co-Convenor, CII J&K Tourism Panel and Managing Director of Countryside Hotels and Resorts; Javaid Tenga, President of KCCI; along with other KCCI members and representatives from the Hoteliers Club.
The program brought together a distinguished panel of speakers, including Dr. Mahendra Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment; Dr. V. Nongrum, Medical Commissioner, North Zone, ESIC; Dushyant Pande, In-Charge, J&K and Leh Region, ESIC; and Vinay Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner II, RO Kashmir, EPFO.
