Srinagar, Sep 25: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Tuesday alleged that government forces used chemical weapons against militants during a recent gunfight at north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
“Use of chemical weapons is a felony against humanity,” the Hurriyat said in a statement and demanded a high level probe by the International war crime tribunal under the guidance of UN.
“Taking a strong note of the use of chemical weapons at Bandipora, the Hurriyat leader castigated the Indian authorities for violating the settled norms of safeguarding the life of innocent and unarmed people living under the shadow of war,” the statement said.
Five militants were killed in a gunfight with forces in Bandipora forests three days back.
