Srinagar, Mar 28: Even the ongoing coronavirus pandemic doesn’t seem to stop drug peddlers from carrying on their illicit trade in Kashmir

In Bandipora, police Saturday said it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered 65 kilograms of charas powder in his possession.

“Based on specific input about possession of drugs in a residential house located at Pushwari Naidkhai area of Bandipora district, Bandipora Police raided the house. During search, police were able to recover 65Kgs of charas powder from the possession of one individual identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Sumbal where he remains in custody,” the spokesperson said.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation into the matter has been initiated. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in peddling will be dealt as per law,” he added.
