JAMMU, APRIL 14:HIirdesh Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, today called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.

Sh. Kumar briefed the Lt Governor about various activities undertaken for generating awareness of electoral process and sensitizing the voters and other ongoing activities of the Election Commission in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lt Governor asked the CEO to stress on the high importance of educating the voters about the value of their vote, besides increasing the enrolment of eligible voters to strengthen the roots of democratic setup. He further asked him to ensure availability of all the related information in the public domain.

N R Pradhan, General Manager Food Corporation of India, J&K, called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today and briefed him about the stock positioning of the food grains in FCI Godowns across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lt Governor and the GM discussed about the procurement and availability of food grains and other important related issues amid COVID-19 crisis.

The Lt Governor asked the GM to ensure the sufficient stock and take all necessary measures to ensure hassle-free supply of food grains, especially to the vulnerable areas, to avoid any inconvenience to the people.
