Srinagar: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Thursday pitched for strengthening the relationship between Jammu and Kashmir and the film industry.
Addressing the inaugural function of Jammu and Kashmir Film Policy 2024 at SKICC, Dulloo said the relationship between Bollywood and Jammu and Kashmir dates back from “Barsaat to Mission Kashmir.”
He said films were incomplete without having sequences from Kashmir. “Then a time came when it all stopped. Now the connection between Jammu and Kashmir and the film industry needs to be strengthened,” he said.
Dulloo said a film ecosystem is being set up through Film Policy 2024 to restore the connection between Jammu and Kashmir and the film industry. “Jammu and Kashmir again is going to be a very popular film destination,” he said.
Dulloo said the resurgence of film shooting will offer various opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. “There is no less talent in Jammu and Kashmir, The step is going to offer major opportunities to the youth,” he said.
Through the Single Window Portal, the chief secretary said the process of permission and other facilities for filmmakers will be simplified.
He said the eminent film personalities have appreciated the work of the young filmmakers who participated in the short film competition.
Dulloo said a panel discussion will follow with experts to chalk out how to attract Bollywood and bring more youth into this industry.
