Srinagar: Prominent scholar, author and public intellectual Amir Suhail Wani met veteran statesman, philosopher and former parliamentarian Dr. Karan Singh and held an extensive discussion on Kashmir’s spiritual, cultural and intellectual heritage, with particular focus on interfaith dialogue and the Valley’s Rishi-Sufi traditions.
The meeting centered on the values of compassion, wisdom, mutual respect and coexistence that have historically shaped Kashmir’s civilizational ethos. Both sides emphasized the importance of preserving these traditions to strengthen social harmony and promote meaningful engagement among diverse communities.
During the interaction, Amir Suhail Wani shared a selection of his research articles and writings on Lal Ded (Lalleshwari), Kashmiri spirituality, literature and the region’s composite cultural heritage. Dr. Karan Singh appreciated the depth of his scholarship and intellectual engagement, and extended his best wishes for his future academic and literary pursuits.
