Srinagar, April 18: Eminent religious scholar Allama Agha Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi today passed away after brief illness.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday expressed grief over the passing of an eminent scholar and religious leader.
In a post on X, Omar wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Deeply saddened by the passing of distinguished Shia scholar, cleric, and religious leader Allama Agha Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi.”
He added, “His profound contributions to religious thought, social harmony, and public service in J&K leave behind a legacy that will be remembered with deep respect and affection. Heartfelt condolences to his family and followers mourning this great loss.”
Thousands of people participated in his Jinaza prayers. Top politicians, including Omar, joined the funeral prayers.
