‘All is well’: Sonam Wangchuk’s ‘climate fast’ ends

Social activist, engineer and innovator Sonam Wangchuk has ended his five-day long climate fast.

“FINALLY MY #ClimateFast ENDS…
It was to #SaveLadakh under #SixthShedule.
I was joined by 100s of people in prayers, from allover Ladakh in snowy polar conditions, and I did a Live in the last moments…” he said in a Facebook post.

He also shared a video before concluding the fast.

“Today was the 5th and last day of my climate fast for the safeguarding of mountains, glaciers, land and people of Ladakh and for grant of 6th Schedule of Indian constitution to the Ladakh UT,” Wangchuk said in the video message.

He further said the fast was meant to draw the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the entire world to live simpler and carbon-neutral lives.
