Agha Fazalullah passes away, CM condoles demise

Srinagar, Jan 29: President of AnjumanSharayeeShiaan and top Shia leader, Agha Syed Mohammad Fazalullah Monday passed away at his Budgam residence.
He was the brother of National Conference MLC Aga Syed Mehmood and uncle of NC MLA Aga Syed Ruhullah.
Family sources informed that he was suffering from lung cancer and passed away at around 11:30 am at his home in Budgam.
Witnesses said that over one lakh people attended the funeral of top Shia leader.
Various Islamic clerics and pro-freedom leaders also participated in his funeral.
Hujjatulislam, Agha Syed Mohammad BakarAlmosvi, the top Shia leader led the funeral prayers of Fazalullah.
Those who attended the funeral procession of the top Shia leader includes Aga Syed Hassan, Agha Syed Muhammad Hadi, Agha Syed Murtaza, Aga Ruhullah, Aga Mahmood, Molana Hakeem Sajad, Molana Maqbool Ahmad Joo, Agha Syed Muhammad Magami, Tehreek-e-Wahdat leaders including Khadim Hussain and Maqbool Magami, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Syed Imtiyaz Haider, DFP leaders and Nisar Ahmed Rather, Tehreek-e-Wahdat leader.
The Islamic clerics and the pro-freedom leaders expressed sorrow over the demise of Fazalullah and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
They also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of the prominent Shia cleric. Recalling the contribution of Agha Fazalullah, the Chief Minister said he played an important role in the social, educational and spiritual awakening of his followers and was a great proponent of unity among all sects and views.
Mehbooba Mufti has prayed for solace to the departed soul and conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved family.
