Srinagar, Oct 6: Advisor to Governor, K. Vijay Kumar and Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam today reviewed the security and developmental scenario of Anantnag district at a meeting here.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir S.P. Pani, DIG South also accompanied.
District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir briefed the Advisor and Chief Secretary about the progress achieved under key sectors like Health, R&B, Education, PHE, RDD, PMGSY, Agricultural, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry.
The DDC also apprised about the progress achieved under district Capex Budget – 2019-20. He informed that Rs. 199.58 crore have been earmarked for the district for the current financial year, out of which an expenditure of Rs.77.07 crore has been made against an availability of Rs.140.73 crore by the end of September 2019.
The meeting was also informed that healthcare facilities remain uninterrupted during the months of August and September, 2019 as in District Hospital Anantnag, 62106 OPD and 4127 IPD patients were treated. Similarly, 547 major surgeries, 1139 minor surgeries, 9167 X-Rays, 996 CT Scans, 2745 USGs and 621 dialysis were conducted till the end of September 2019.
Under mega projects, the meeting was told that work on Rs 139 crore GMC Anantnag is different stages and till date an amount of Rs 56.13 crore has been expended under the prestigious project. Besides, the work is also under progress in seven blocks of the Medical College, Trauma Hospital Bijbehara while as Model Hospital Doru has been completed and is ready for commissioning.
The DDC sought the intervention of Chief Secretary for release of Rs. 4 crore for the completion of construction and finishing work of Rehmat-e-Aalam Hospital Anantnag.
The DDC also briefed about the progress of on-going projects in the district viz; SRTC Shopping Complex Anantnag, Fruit Mandi Jablipora, Sewerage Treatment Plant near Stadium Anantnag, Seepage Management at Uranhall, multilevel parking at Janglat Mandi Anantnag, Eklaviya Model School Salia, Government Polytechnic College Larkipora, Administrative Complex / Mini Secretariat at Doru.
The DDC also updated the Advisor and Chief Secretary about the arrangements for BDC Elections.
The Advisor and Chief Secretary complimented the district administration for overall performance in implementing State and Centrally sponsored schemes, organizing of public outreach programmes, ensuring better healthcare facilities, starting of fresh batch in GMC Anantnag, supply of essential commodities and conduct of sports events.
They stressed upon the administration to make best efforts in addressing the public issues on priority, with special focus on improving the public delivery system.
Later, various deputations met the Advisor and Chief Secretary and projected various issues concerning them. The deputations who met included, Pahalgam Hoteliers Association, Tracking Association, Panches/Sarpanches, Chairmen Municipal Committees, Ward Members, Public delegation from Kokernag and adjacent areas, South Kashmir Transporters Association, Students and Teachers of private schools.
Both, Advisor and CS listened to the deputations patiently and assured them that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and redressed on priority.
The Advisor and Chief Secretary also visited the Fruit Mandi Batangoo where they were briefed that till date JK HMPPC has procured 54517 Apple boxes from growers.
Three militants killed in Pulwama gunfight
Pulwama:Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. According to the Kashmir Zone Police, arms and ammunition have been recovered from the site.
Identities and affiliations of the militants are being ascertained and search in the area is underway. The encounter began in the outskirts of Pulwama today evening. The security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama following inputs about the presence of militants
Govt employees of J&K, Ladakh to get salaries as per 7th pay commission
The government employees of the new Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh — will get salaries and other benefits as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission from October 31, officials said on Tuesday.
The Union Home Ministry has issued the necessary orders in this regard.
Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the proposal of payment of all 7th CPC allowances to the government employees of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh, which shall come into existence from October 31.
The central government had on August 5 announced the abrogation of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and its bifurcation into two UTs.
FC Finance discusses budget proposals for J&K, Ladakh with Admin Secretaries
Srinagar, Oct 21: Financial Commissioner Finance Department, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta today held extensive discussions with the Administrative Secretaries of various departments regarding budget proposals for the financial year 2020–2021 for Union Territory (UT) of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh, which will take the formal shape on October 31.
The budget was discussed with around a dozen departments including Finance, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, PDD, Horticulture, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Home, Health & Medical Education and other departments.
While chairing separate meetings with various departments, Dr Mehta was informed about the strategies conceived by these departments for the financial year 2020-2021 and the major projects that will be under taken by the concerned departments. Threadbare discussions were held on the functioning of these departments and their future requirements.
The Administrative Secretaries put forth the budget proposals along with their view points on the future action plans with regard to their targets and improving infrastructure for better delivery of services. They also briefed the Financial Commissioner about the status of various on-going projects in their respective departments.
Dr Mehta advised all the departments to ensure proper projection of their requirements and focus on outcomes.
