3 soldiers injured in IED blast at Shopian

Srinagar, May 28: On Monday morning army’s 44 RR was on regular patrolling in the area in a casper vehicle when the Militants triggered an IED near water point Sugan area of Shopian district which was followed by some firing.

Offcial sources said that militants had planted IED near Water point Sugan area as soon as the casper of army passed the area militants triggered IED.

In this incident 3 soldiers were injured including one officer. All them were shifted to the hospital and they are said to be stable.

Police also said that the second IED was defused at the site of a blast.

“It is learnt that the militants after triggering the blast escaped from the spot. Bomb Disposal Squad deployed at the site of the blast recovered a second IED from the site,” a police official said.

Meanwhile residents of Sugan village Monday said that the government forces vandalized dozens of houses following the explosion.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a local said that the forces ransacked several residential houses after the blast.
