2026 will be year of historic development: Darakhshan

SRINAGAR: Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board, Syed Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi (Minister of State), today inaugurated the newly constructed first floor and Examination Hall at Model Waqf School, Chrar-e-Sharief, at an impressive function held in the school complex.

The work on this infrastructural extension project started last year and was completed within a very short span of time, in accordance with approved standards. Waqf Board officials and eminent citizens of the town were present on the occasion.

Dr. Darakhshan addressed the gathering and gave details of the infrastructural development undertaken by the Waqf Board during the past three years at Chrar-e-Sharief. She said that the land of Nooruddin Noorani (RA) is the spiritual power centre of Kashmir and holds great significance in the spiritual landscape of the country.

Dr. Andrabi said that smart classes would soon be introduced in all educational institutions of the Waqf Board across the Union Territory. She noted that the Waqf Board was the first to implement the National Education Policy in its educational institutions.

“Huge transformation at the shrine of Alamdar has received wide public endorsement, and infrastructural initiatives are continuing at an enormous pace. The year 2026 will mark a historic infrastructural boost for the Waqf Board across Jammu & Kashmir,” said Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi.

The Waqf Chairperson also paid obeisance at the shrine of Nund Reshi and reviewed the progress of ongoing projects.

Eminent personalities present on the occasion included Haji Younis; Imam-o-Khateeb Molvi Ameer-ud-din; writer Inayat Gul; Regional Director, MANNU Srinagar, Dr. Aijaz Ashraf; Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin; and Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad, among others.
