107 militants killed in 2021 so far, 10 in last six days

Srinagar: As many as 107 militants have been killed in 2021 including five killed in the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir police said on Tuesday.

Three of them were killed in the encounter in north Kashmir’s Sopore area today, police said.

Two militants including a top commander of LeT-TRF Abbas Sheikh and his aide were shot dead in a shootut in Srinagar’s Allochi Bagh area late Monday afternoon.

On an average, 13 militants have been killed each month in J&K during this year.

“In the ongoing operation at Pithsheer Sopore. All three terrorists stand neutralised. Operation closed. Situation normal. With this five terrorists stand neutralised in last 24 hours and 10 in the the last six days. Total terrorists killed in J&K are 107 during 2021,” J&K police tweeted on its official handle today.
