10 Exciting New iOS Features Heading to iPhones Soon

Apple is gearing up to unveil iOS 18 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10, 2024. The highly anticipated operating system is rumoured to bring a plethora of new features and enhancements to at least 16 apps on iPhones, as reported by MacRumors, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, and other sources.
iOS 18 is set to leverage generative AI technology to enable Siri and Spotlight to respond to more complex questions and search queries, enhancing the overall user experience,

Apart from this, the upcoming iOS 18 is expected to introduce the following features:
1. Apple Music: Auto-generated playlists for a more personalised listening experience.

2. Calculator: A revamped app with a sidebar for recent calculations, improved unit conversion, and integration with the Notes app. The Calculator app is also rumoured to make its debut on iPads with iPadOS 18.

3. Calendar and Reminders: Integration between the two apps for streamlined task management.

4. Freeform: A new “Scenes” option for easier navigation on the canvas in Apple’s drawing app.

5. Health: New AI-powered features, although specific details are not yet known.

6. iWork Suite (Keynote, Numbers, and Pages): Generative AI features for auto-generating slides, faster writing, and more.

7. Mail, Photos, and Fitness: Significant overhauls, but no specific details have been revealed.

8. Messages: RCS support for improved communication between iPhones and Android devices, including higher-resolution media, audio messages, typing indicators, read receipts, and Wi-Fi messaging. Generative AI is also rumoured to be incorporated for more effective sentence auto-completion.

19. Notes: Ability to display mathematical notation and a built-in audio recording tool for enhanced functionality.

10. In addition to these app-specific updates, iOS 18 is expected to bring improvements to Safari, with a browsing assistant and a “Web Eraser” feature for removing certain elements from web pages.
