Will contest from all 87 seats of assembly constituency in JK: BJP

Srinagar, Jan 02: The state Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the party is ready to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir from all 87 constituencies, saying that the party has geared up and has convened a series of meetings to strengthen the party at grass-root level.

BJP General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul said that the party is ready for the elections and is presently concentrating on parliamentary elections, which would likely be held in March this year.

He added that the party has convened district core committee meeting in Kulgam, Anantnag and will convene in other districts also, which are aimed to strengthen the party at grass-root level keeping in view of the parliamentary and assembly elections.

Referring to a query, Koul said that after losing three states, the morale of any party is bound to go down but the party is preparing itself and it seems the morale of party workers are high.“We hope that we will win with a good margin,” he said, while reacting to the claims of Congress.
He added that in the assembly elections, the party will win more seats, saying that BJP will fight from all 87 assembly constituencies and the next chief minister for the state will be from BJP.

He Koul added that Mehbooba who earlier made a statement like where they (youth who were killed in 2016 agitation) out to buy toffee or milk, now visits the families of slain is a political gimmick, which BJP doesn’t pursue. “BJP is a party that believes in equitable development for one and all,” he said, adding that what the party utter is Srinagar will remain stick to the statement in New Delhi also.

He added that in Jammu, the party has huge public support and will emerge winner from more seats as compared to the past elections, adding that at present “there is no consideration over joining hands with NC to come into the power after assembly elections.”

He also added that the PM Modi will be meeting 12-year-old Kashmir girl, Hanaya Nisar whom Modi mentioned in Mann ki Baat recently.
Hanaya, hailing from Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district recently bagged a gold medal in 2018 International Martial arts contest in South Korea.

Koul said PM Modi will meet the girl within three-four days.
