Srinagar, Jan 9: While India is making constructive efforts to engage Taliban in talks, autonomy for Tibet and Tamil areas in Sri Lanka it shows less encouragement and projects double standards when it comes to the resolution of Kashmir-issue, former J&K CMs, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, tweeted reaching a common denominator after the earlier war of words.

In a direct onslaught on Government of India for its sluggish approach towards resolving Kashmir-conundrum, National Conference vice president tweeted: “We bat for talks with Taliban, autonomy for Tibet & Tamil areas of Sri Lanka yet we are unwilling to look at engagement or political initiatives in J&K. Why is our policy all about “do as we say, don’t do as we do”? Engagement for Taliban, Operation All-Out for Kashmir.”

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti shared Omar’s views on the issue.

She also criticized the response of the Government of India towards the resolution of K-issue and tweeted that Army General was advocating talks with Taliban but negating Kashmir.

“If the Army Chief can advocate for talks with Taliban then why different standards when it comes to our own people? Accept peace offer from Pakistan, initiate dialogue with Hurriyat and other stakeholders (and) put an end to the vicious cycle of violence in J&K,” she too tweeted.

Interestingly, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba were caught in a verbal duel on Twitter few days ago. Mehbooba’s visit to militant families was criticized by Omar.
