TAC meet held, discusses PMFBY implementation related issues

Srinagar, Nov 24: The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting of Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture Government of India was held here Saturday at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi.

The meeting was chaired by the Mission Director Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), which was also attended by the representatives of leading insurance companies of the country.
Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi who is also the Mission Director for PMFBY chaired the meeting and asked the participants that department would be on the forefront in providing technical support, data availability and other related expertise.
He added that the department’s goal is to serve the farming community in a best possible manner, contribution in the successful and effective implementation of PMFBY is the department’s professional responsibility.
Sharing his views Head of Technical Advisory Community, Sunil Kumar assured the participants the Government would provide all possible support for the successful and early implementation of PMFBY in Kashmir. A detailed discussion was held on different aspects related to the implementation of PMFBY including methodologies and models to be adopted, data evaluation, crop-cut experiments, yield estimation models.
The meeting was attended by Sunil Kumar Assistant Director Credits Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare Government of India, S.R Joshi Senior Consultant PMFBY Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare GoI, S.S Saksena DGM Agriculture insurance company, Haji Altaf Hussain Director NSSO Kashmir, Sonum Lotus Director Indian Meteorological Department, Representatives of leading insurance companies, Regional (S.M.S) M.Yaseen Masoodi.
