Soldier injured in Uri, fire along LoC in Poonch

Srinagar, Mar 09: An Indian army man was injured after Pakistani army fired on the forward Indian posts along the Line of Control in Uri sector.
“An army man was injured in fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan army at Jane Peer Baba post in Uri sector last night,” a defence official said.
The injured army man was identified as Param Veer Singh of 17 JAT regiment.
Indian and Pakistani troops on Friday exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
A defence spokesman said that Pakistan army shelled mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, drawing heavy retaliation from the Indian Army.
“The Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 0930 hours in Poonch sector along the LoC in Rajouri district,” he said.
