Srinagar, August 8: Expressing dissatisfaction over the investigation in Paramjeet Kaur’s death case, the victim family on Wednesday demanded setting up of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe what they called as the brutal murder of their beloved daughter.
Paramjeet Kaur, 29, alias Pooja who hails from Chanapora, was married to Manmeet Singh from Mahjoor Nagar for the last six years. The family also said that she has four-year-old kid and was expecting again.
Addressing a presser here at a local hotel-cum shopping mall, Advocate Deepika Rajawat who was accompanied by Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen (KTK) chairperson, Zamrooda Habib and the family member of Pooja said that the investigations done by the police into the case so far was not satisfactory. “We demand SIT should be formed who will investigate the matter thoroughly and justice will be done to Pooja,” they said.
Advocate Rajawat told reporters that police didn’t file an FIR into the case for ten days. “The marks found on the body of Pooja and the damaged kidney clearly indicates that she was brutally killed. Moreover, her insurance was also done a few days prior to her killing, which also seems fishy,” she said.
She further divulged that the police didn’t share the details including post-mortem reports with the family, therefore “we urge the police to take up the matter in a proper way and investigate it so that accused are booked.”
Advocate Rajawat who is also pleading Kathua rape and murder case said that police should share the details with the family so that they would get satisfaction that their case is being taken up in a proper way. “In case police had shared all the details with the family then we would have never said that the police is trying to hush-up the case,” she added.
She said that the delay in investigating in all such cases indicates that there is some lapse in the system. “In case there would have been proper system then these delays would have never occurred,” she added.
The Advocate further said that the proper investigation is must rather than registering an FIR. She along with the family of Pooja appealed the people to extend their support to them so that the accused are booked as per the law.
