Srinagar, Dec 05: The Pahari speaking students on Wednesday asked the authorities to extend the date for receiving the online applications pertaining to scholarships.
On December 1, J &K State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People (JKSABDPS) invited applications from the candidates, who intend to apply for scholarships.
The aim of providing the scholarships in various professional and non-professional courses is to raise the educational standard of the students belonging to Pahari speaking community.
The candidates have been asked to submit the applications latest by December 10, however the candidates who approached this newspaper said that they would not be able to submit the applications within the given deadline.
“I cannot submit the application within the prescribed dates as I have to do some more paper work. The University of Kashmir is yet to come up with the fee structure for under graduate courses,” said a student of Government Degree College (GDC), Baramulla.
“The applications are to be submitted along with an affidavit, income certificate and fee receipt. Where from will I get the receipt? It takes time to arrange these things,” said Nasir Ahmad, a student of Government Degree College (GDC), Uri.
Asking the board to extend the date by at least by 20 days, the candidates said, “If date was not increased, many candidates would not able to apply.”
“Every year, the board has been inviting the applications but the time frame has always been a concern for the candidates. We appeal the concerned authorities to look into the issue .Extend the date at an earliest,” they added.
The authorities at JKSB could not be contacted despite repeated attempts for their comments.
