Srinagar, Dec 2: Real Kashmir Football Club has conveyed to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and I-League authorities to defer the next two I-League games in view of the stadium capacity concerns and prevailing situation in Kashmir valley.

Top sources in the club say that a request in this regard has already been made to I-League and a decision is expected soon.

The club, as per sources, has expressed its reluctance to host the next two games after serious concerns over the crowd capacity and safety at the TRC Astro turf.

The seating at the TRC is based on metal structures and since more than the capacity crowds are turning in, it renders the seating arrangement unsafe.

“Yes, we have conveyed to AIFF our concerns and are waiting for their decision. Beyond a point it’s not in our hands. We have requested I-League that these two matches be deferred to a later date,” a senior functionary at Real Kashmir FC said.

The law and order situation too seems to be fragile as in the month of November alone, close to 30 militants have been killed, property worth crores has been destroyed and many including a toddler have been injured in post encounter protests thus leading to a general sense of gloom in the valley.

Real Kashmir are currently on 5th position and are scheduled to play Aizawl and Shillong Lajong on 5 and 11 December.
