Powerlifting competition: Shakir Yousuf wins ‘Mr North Kashmir’ title


Srinagar: For the first time, Indian Physique Alliance Champion of Champion’s Powerlifting Competition was held at The Fitness Hub at Sheeri Baramulla on Sunday.

Shakir Yousuf, weighing 58kg, won Mr North Kashmir Powerful Man of the year 2021 award.


Zubair Ahmed won the first runner-up title and Dr. Rafiq Mir won the second runner-up title. 

Over 24 power lifters from North Kashmir took part in 10 Categories comprising of 50 kg to 100 kg.

The competitors went through Bench Press, Squats, and Deadlift to show their strength.

Mr. Kashmir Umer Farooq, Powerlifting Champion Mumin Khan, Ex-People’s Champ Akhtar Ajaz, Men’s physique champion Shoaib Wani, Ex Power Lifting Champion Mujeeb Sultan Bhat  and National Powerlifting Champion Inayat Ullah Khan, were present on the occasion.


Golden Brands Owner Asif Rashid was the Guest of Honour.

“The event was also graced by the presence of other dignitaries and enthusiastic crowd. Meanwhile Indian Physique Alliance president Asif Rashid announced special prize Land Rover Cycle, Led TV  and trophies to the winning power lifters,” a statement read.
