SRINAGAR, MARCH 22: A vibrant plantation drive was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in the campus of SSM College of Engineering today, in collaboration with the Students’ Council, fostering enthusiasm and commitment toward environmental sustainability.
The event aimed to raise awareness among students, faculty, and local participants about the importance of plantation and its role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Students from all departments, alongside faculty members, actively took part in planting saplings, reinforcing their commitment to a greener future. Many students further contributed by bringing saplings to the college, adding to the collective effort for environmental well-being.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) N.A Shah, Registrar of the Institute, who emphasized the significance of a green environment. He urged students to take moral responsibility not just in planting but also in nurturing and protecting trees. The drive concluded on a high note, leaving behind a strong message: “A plant today, a tree tomorrow, and a healthy environment forever.”
