SRINAGAR, AUGUST 08: A delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Kashmir, led by A.P. Vicky Shaw, Chairman, PHDCCI Kashmir, along with Co-Chair Himayu Wani and Deputy Director PHDCCI Kashmir, met Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, ARI & Training, at the Civil Secretariat today.
The delegation discussed key initiatives to attract national and international IT companies to Kashmir, with a focus on establishing IT hubs that would provide employment opportunities for the educated youth of the region. The government is actively working to create the necessary infrastructure to facilitate the entry of reputed IT firms, with a mandate to hire local talent, ensuring sustainable growth and skill development in Jammu & Kashmir.
Additionally, the delegation raised concerns regarding legal and meteorological compliance issue faced by local manufacturing units, as well as unnecessary harassment in regulatory processes. The Minister assured the delegation that the government is committed to supporting ethical and genuine businesses and will take necessary steps to prevent undue disruptions. He emphasized that the administration is working tirelessly to create new ventures and opportunities for the youth of J&K, fostering an environment of growth and innovation.
