London: World’s No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic has put up a “strong candidate” to be part of the England cricket team. It’s none other than his chauffeur Imran Bashir, an amateur cricketer in England. Djokovic posted on Twitter a photograph of himself with Bashir, who is seen holding a trophy. Djokovic described Bashir as a “famous batsman” for his local cricket team. “Imran Bashir (my chauffeur for the ATP Finals) has been part of #TeamDjokovic for 10 years! He is also a famous batsman for his local #cricket team. He received this trophy for best batsman of the year and we need to get it out there,” Djokovic wrote.

Djokovic also asked England coach Trevor Bayliss to keep an eye on Bashir. “Trevor Bayliss @englandcricket (ECB), you should keep your eye on Imran. I think he is a strong candidate for your team,” Djokovic wrote.

Djokovic raised a lot of laughs with this advice. In response, the International Cricket Council invited him for a net session at the 2019 World Cup.
